Here we are… Issue #100. 🙌
When I first started this newsletter, my original goal was to reach 15 issues. That then became 52. Then it became 100. Some issues were completed in ten minutes, others took hours. I originally started this as a way to share my ideas and philosophy around movement differently - by applying everything I was learning about design. It was also a way to continuously stay inspired in my movement practice (which hasn’t been perfect by any means.)
Showing up hasn’t always been easy. There were a few weeks where I questioned why I was doing all of this in the first place. But I couldn’t stop.
I couldn’t stop because this newsletter represents a small seed planted, that is actively laying the foundation for a larger vision. A vision that brings together two things that I’m deeply passionate about - movement & design. A big part of that is working with those who currently want to share their ideas and teachings around this big topic of movement, separate from mainstream pop fitness.
Movement is too important to be left to the fitness industry.
As someone who struggled a lot through their coaching career - finding (the right) clients, not teaching in a way that felt aligned - I felt stuck and uninspired succumbing to much of what people think they need… more burpees, higher intensities, and copious amounts of cheerleading. But the landscape is changing. More and more coaches want to share their holistic approach to movement in a way that’s authentic to them. They want to free themselves from the “rules of engagement” the fitness industry has established over the past 50 years. I will continue to use my design skills to do just that.
As for the newsletter - I have no plans on stopping these. I look forward to creating the next 100 issues. But I do plan to experiment more with my writing, play with different mediums (like audio), and continue to hone in on my craft via the visuals I’m creating. Thank you for sticking around as I slowly bring this vision to life. I hope it inspires you to create whatever it is you seek to create. More updates soon to come.
**With that said, at the start of every month I plan to continue sharing a compilation of visuals. Some of these you’ve already seen as they are from previous issues. (Click the link below the visual to jump to that issue.) 👇
